Want to control your lighting with your phone or smart assistant? Here’s how to connect your smart bulb to the ASK4 network.
Step 1 - Power on your smart bulb
Install the bulb in a light fitting
Switch it on – most bulbs will enter pairing mode automatically (often shown by flashing light)
If it doesn’t, check the packaging or instructions to manually enable pairing mode
Step 2 - Connect your phone or tablet to ASK4 Wireless
Before setup, make sure your mobile device is connected to ASK4 Wireless:
Go to Settings > WiFi
Select ASK4 Wireless
Wait until it says "Connected"
If prompted, complete registration at https://myaccount.ask4.com
The smart bulb will connect through your phone during setup, so this step is important.
Step 3 - Use the smart bulb’s app
Open the manufacturer’s app (e.g. Tapo, Smart Life, Tuya, Philips Hue, etc.) and start setup:
Tap Add device
Follow the instructions until prompted to select a network
Choose ASK4 Wireless
The bulb may appear to “connect” but will remain offline until it’s registered manually.
Step 4 - Register your bulb manually
Use your phone or laptop to register the bulb via My Account:
Log into your ASK4 account
Select Add a device manually
Enter the MAC address of the smart bulb
Click Enable this device
Step 5 - Find your MAC address
You can find your smart bulb’s MAC address in one of these ways:
On the bulb or box – most manufacturers print the MAC address clearly
In the app – if setup failed, check device settings or status info
From the connection list – check My Account for unregistered devices and match the bulb’s name or manufacturer
A MAC address looks like: 00:1B:44:11:3A:B7
Step 6 - Reconnect and test
Turn the bulb off and back on
Restart the app
Reconnect the bulb to ASK4 Wireless
It should now show as online and controllable in the app
Helpful tips
Many bulbs only support 2.4GHz networks – ASK4 Wireless includes this
If your app shows the bulb as offline, re-check the MAC address and registration
