The steps to add a TV depend on which networks are available in your building.
Which network do you see in your WiFi settings?
I can see "ASK4 Resident"
Step 1 - On your TV connect to ASK4 Resident.
Enter your personal WiFi passphrase when prompted. This is the passphrase you received when you first signed up - you can also find it in MyAccount at https://myaccount.ask4.com.
Your TV is automatically added to your account and is now online.
I can see "ASK4 Wireless" (but not "ASK4 Resident")
Step 1 - Connect to ASK4 Wireless
Please only add if it's your personal TV. Start by connecting the TV to ASK4 Wireless (the open network):
- Go to your TV's WIFI or Network settings
- Choose ASK4 Wireless from the list
- Let it connect – you might see a "limited" connection, which is fine
Step 2 - Register your TV
Smart TVs usually don't support pop-ups, so you'll need to register the TV manually using another device. Here's how:
- On your phone or laptop, go to https://myaccount.ask4.com and log into your ASK4 account
- Find your TV's MAC address (see next section)
- Enter the MAC address in Add a device manually and click Enable this device
Step 3 - Find your MAC address
Most smart TVs show the MAC address in:
- Settings Network About / Advanced Settings
- Settings Support / About This TV / Contact Info
- Or printed on the label on the back of the TV
It will look something like: 00:A1:B2:3C:D4:E5
Still stuck? Search for "your TV brand MAC address" online for exact steps.
Step 4 - You're online!
After registering:
- Reboot your TV
- Go back to ASK4 Wireless in the network menu
- You should now be online
Tips and troubleshooting
- If you see Private MAC or Random MAC, turn it off
- TV still won't connect? Make sure you entered the correct MAC
- Contact Support
