Here’s how to take a screenshot on common devices.
Windows laptop or PC
Option 1 - Full-screen screenshot
Press
PrtScnto capture your full screenOpen Paint or another editor and press
Ctrl+Vto pasteSave the image
Option 2 - Use the Snipping Tool (Windows 10 and 11)
Press
Windows+Shift+SSelect the area you want to capture
The image is saved to your clipboard – paste it into Paint or an email
Mac or iMac
Option 1 - Entire screen
Press
Command+Shift+3
Option 2 - Selected area
Press
Command+Shift+4Drag your cursor to select the area
The screenshot will save automatically to your desktop
iPhone or iPad
Press the Side button + Volume Up (on Face ID models)
Press the Home button + Power (on Touch ID models)
Tap the screenshot preview to edit or send
Android phone or tablet
Press Power + Volume Down together
Screenshots are saved to your Photos or Gallery app
On some models, you can swipe your palm across the screen to capture
Chromebook

Smart TVs and other devices
Smart TVs and consoles don’t always support screenshots. If you can’t take a screenshot:
Take a photo of the screen using your phone
Make sure the message is visible and in focus
