If you're experiencing WiFi issues, the ASK4 Diagnostics app can help identify the problem and speed up support if you need to contact us. Here's how to run a test with ASK4 Diagnostics:
What is ASK4 Diagnostics?
ASK4 Diagnostics is a free tool available for iOS and Android that helps:
Identify WiFi and connection issues
Confirm if your device is registered properly
Check signal strength and speeds
Generate a diagnostic report for Support
It only takes a few minutes and works best when used near your router or access point.
Step 1 - Download the app
Step 2 - Open the app and run a test
Stand in the room where you’re experiencing the issue
Open the ASK4 Diagnostics app
Allow any requested permissions (or it won't scan the WIFI environment)
Tap Run Test
The app will run tests on signal quality, registration, bandwidth, and DNS resolution.
iOS users only – additional WiFi scan
Due to restrictions in iOS, there is an extra step required to provide full diagnostics.
Download and install the free app AirPort Utility from the App Store (Please do not start the test before completing step 2)
On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apps > AirPort Utility and enable Wi-Fi Scanner.
Open the AirPort Utility app and tap Wi-Fi Scan (top right). If the Wi-Fi Scan option is not visible, close the AirPort Utility app by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to the middle and holding, then swipe AirPort Utility to the top to remove it from the app drawer. Restart from step 1 and the option should appear.
Move the slider to set the duration to 20 seconds and then tap Scan.
When the scan completes, press the Share button (bottom left).
Select Share via Mail.
Email the scan to support@ask4.com including your ASK4 issue reference number and ASK4 Diagnostics Code in the subject line.
Step 3 - Contact Support
When the test completes:
Press the Share button in the top right corner of your screen
Complete the Submit a request form, your code from the app will have been copied to your keyboard, so you can paste this into the body of your form submission.
-
Press Submit, you will then receive an email with your ticket reference number. If you are not registered with ASK4 Support, you will receive an email asking you to verify your email address prior to receiving the ticket reference number.
