To get online with ASK4, every device needs to be registered using its MAC address – a unique code that helps identify your device on the network - it looks like this F4:92:BF:3A:CD:09
Please follow the instructions below to find your MAC address:
Easiest way: Check the WiFi settings on the device
If you're on the device you want to register, this is the quickest way:
iPhone or iPad
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi
- Tap the ⓘ next to ASK4 Wireless
- Look for Wi-Fi Address – that's your MAC address
If it says Private Wi-Fi Address, turn that off before registering
Android phones or tablets
- Go to Settings > About phone > Status
- Or Settings > About phone > WiFi MAC address
- Look for MAC address or WiFi MAC address
You might also find it under About phone > Hardware information
Windows
- Click the Start menu and search for Command Prompt
- Type
getmacand press Enter - You’ll see something like:
F4-92-BF-3A-CD-09
If that’s too technical, try:
- Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Hardware Properties
- Look for Physical address (MAC)
macOS (Macbook, iMac)
- Open System Settings
- Click Network > Wi-Fi > Details
- Look for Wi-Fi MAC Address
Chromebook
- Click the clock in the corner
- Open Settings > Network > Wi-Fi
- Click the network you're connected to
- Scroll to find MAC address
Smart devices (TVs, consoles, speakers)
Please only add if it's your personal TV. You’ll usually find the MAC address:
- On the device itself (sticky label on the back or bottom)
- On the original box or packaging
- In Settings > Network, System Info, or About
Examples:
- Smart TV – look in Network Settings > Advanced > MAC address
- Games console – check under Network > Settings > View Connection Status
- Smart speaker – use the setup app (e.g. Google Home or Alexa)
