How to connect Smart Plugs i.e TP-LINK

Note: If you wish for your Smart Plug to be controlled over the wireless network, or link up with another device such as your Amazon Dot, Google Home, etc., you will need to have 4Network enabled on your account. 4Network is part of the 4Connect-Plus add-on. This add-on is available via myaccount.ask4.com

Some plugs are controlled through an application over the Internet, rather than the local network. If this is the case, you may not require 4Network. Please speak to the manufacturer, if you are unsure how these plug applications operate.

For the smoothest setup experience, please follow our guide before powering on your new Smart Plug.

Finding your Smart Plug’s MAC Address

If you wish to connect your smart plug to the wireless network, you will need to add the MAC address of the plug to your account.

The MAC address is usually printed on the device itself. However, if this is not the case, please speak to the manufacturer or consult the device manual for guidance.
