What’s the difference between ASK4 Wireless and ASK4 Wireless (802.1x)?

ASK4 Wireless (802.1x) adds an extra layer of authentication before you can connect and provides WPA2 security between your device and the Wireless Access Point you’re connecting to.

What does this mean for you?

At accommodation buildings provided with a wireless service by ASK4, you will notice two separate network names (SSIDs) on your device that you can connect to, ASK4 Wireless and ASK4 Wireless (802.1x).

ASK4 Wireless is the SSID that you must connect to if you wish to register a new account over a wireless connection. Once you have your account created, you can then connect to the ASK4 Wireless (802.1x) network by using your new ASK4 username and password when your device prompts you to enter them.

You will not notice any difference in performance between ASK4 Wireless and ASK4 Wireless (802.1x).
