Private Wi-Fi Address and MAC Rotation
Apple devices have two security features enabled by default: “MAC Randomization” and “MAC Rotation”.
Private Wi-Fi addressing, or “MAC Randomization,” helps protect your privacy and security by changing your device’s MAC address every time you forget the network and reconnect.
Since we require your MAC address to be registered to your account, this means you may need to re-add your device whenever you forget the network while this feature is active.
This only applies to the open network (ASK4Wireless or ASK4WiFi).
MAC Rotation changes your device's MAC address more frequently, without having to forget the network. This can happen every two weeks.
To resolve this issue, we recommend connecting to the ASK4 Wireless 802.1x secure network instead. This will allow you to connect securely, without randomizing the device's MAC address and forcing you to re-add the device.
Note: You must have already registered and created an account to connect to ASK4Wireless 802.1x.
Alternatively, if you still want to use the ASK4Wireless open network , you can choose to disable the feature. This is entirely up to you.
Below are instructions on how to do this on iOS. You can find instructions for Android and Windows via Google.
Disable Private Address
Go to "Settings", then tap the information button next to ASK4Wireless. Tap the slider next to "Private Wi-Fi Address" to remove MAC randomization.
